NICK MEYER, PRESIDENT & CEO

Nick Meyer launched Sierra Pictures LLC in June 2009, focusing on independent film finance, production and foreign sales. A 15-year industry veteran, Meyer served as President of Paramount Vantage through December of 2008 where he supervised all aspects of the business including finance, operations, acquisitions, development, production, sales, marketing and distribution of a full slate of feature films as well as a staff of 100. He joined Paramount in 2006 as Co-President of Vantage, where he oversaw the release of the films BABEL, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, INTO THE WILD and THERE WILL BE BLOOD. Along with managing a slate financing deal of $150 million, he launched a foreign sales operation and closed a sought-after deal with Liberty Media's Overture Films to sell and release their projects overseas.

While at Paramount, Meyer also managed all local-language productions and acquisitions under the Paramount Worldwide acquisitions group banner. Additionally, he served on the board of the Indian feature film joint venture enterprise between Viacom and TV/Studio 18 entitled The Indian Film Company.

Previously, Meyer served as President of International for Lionsgate, overseeing the international operations for the company and spearheading the growth of that division from a $30 million per year business into a $150 million business. He supervised the acquisition and integration of the company's first international distribution arm, Lionsgate U.K. (formerly Redbus), which released the Academy Award nominated film GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK. Meyer was also responsible for the international sales and distribution of films and television programming including OPEN WATER, MONSTER'S BALL, the SAW franchise, the award-winning television show WEEDS, as well as a library of 3,000+ titles.

During his tenure at Lionsgate, Meyer spearheaded the company's Spanish-language initiatives, beginning with the acquisition of the Academy Award Nominated Amores Perros in 2000, through a broader initiative encompassing the exploitation of libraries upon his departure.

Meyer's Executive Producer credits include the Academy Award-nominated HOTEL RWANDA and the comedy HAPPY ENDINGS.

He began his career at Sony Pictures, where he served in the advertising and publicity department of its specialty division, Sony Pictures Classics, and later served as Director of Worldwide Sales and Acquisitions for Columbia Tri-Star Motion Picture Group.

Meyer holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA from Middlebury, speaks five languages and currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and three children.

MARC SCHABERG, COO & CFO

Marc Schaberg has over 12 years of experience in independent film finance, sales, production and distribution. Prior to launching Sierra Pictures with Nick Meyer in 2009, he was a founding partner of Element Films in 2003 where he was CFO and then COO. While at Element, he structured a $65 million revolving P&A credit facility with Merrill Lynch, negotiated domestic distribution arrangements with Lionsgate and MGM, and launched a foreign sales division, Element Films International.

Schaberg began his career in the film industry in 1997 as CFO of Tomorrow Films, a boutique foreign sales and film finance company. While at Tomorrow, he arranged financing for over 20 films including JUST THE TICKET starring Andy Garcia and the Ben Affleck- and Matt Damon-produced title THE THIRD WHEEL.

In addition to his executive experience in growing and managing independent film companies, Schaberg has also produced or executive produced over 15 films including MR. BROOKS, WAITING and DOWN IN THE VALLEY and has had films he has produced play in the Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.

Prior to beginning his career in film, Schaberg earned a Ph.D. in economics and authored numerous academic and popular articles and also published a book based upon his doctoral dissertation entitled Globalization and the Erosion of National Financial Systems.

He holds a BA from the University of Michigan and an MA and a Ph.D. from the University of California.
